Table 1 has provisions for it in 12 food categories, each with its own maximum level. It is in Table 3: permitted under GMP in foods in general, except the categories listed in the Annex to Table 3.

European Union Authorised

Authorised in the EU: entries in 70 food categories of Annex II Part E. The level and conditions depend on the category.

United States (FDA) Listed

FDA Substances Added to Food and Color Additive Status (substance level)

Listed for direct use in food (21 CFR 172.892). The conditions of use are in that section.

Substance level only: FDA does not set limits by food category the way Codex and the EU do; conditions of use are in the cited 21 CFR section.
